ART DIRECTION + PACKAGING DESIGN
TRADER JOE'S
RE-DESIGN
Let's make this drab package look FAB!
Design that gives me a toothache
Like everyone with good taste, I love Trader Joe's stuff! I love their branding and packaging of original products. But not every design can be a winner.

I was brushing my teeth one day and couldn't stop staring at the box. It was so bland and dated looking. The choice of off-white background *gasp* the vintage-looking illustration *ugh* and that old-fashioned serif font choice *yikes*

So I decided to redesign it!
A Fresh Look
My first step was to re-do the product name. Instead of a boring Serif font, I went with a hand-scripted font, changing the color from a dark green to a fresh and minty color.

I added some retro sparkles and moved the Trader Joe's logo from the far left to the center, so it's aligned with the product name.
Refreshing
Colors
To modernize the product and add more shelf appeal, I crafted a color palette that felt fresh and clean, but added a pop of pink for some whimsical, retro flair.
A Clean Layout
The layout also needed some freshening up. I replaced the solid background with a refreshing peppermint border to frame the text on the back of the box.
