Designing dreamy branding for a high-tech new mattress company
*company is made up, but the designs are real
The Challenge
New company Som-Num (latin for "sleep") needing a logo and branding. Logo needed to compete with other modern mattress companies like Casper and Helix. Logo needed to be easily embroidered on the mattresses themselves.
The Solution
I created a cloud-like branding to convey the peaceful dreams you'll have on the mattress. The logo is playful with the 'o' being an open eye and the 'u' being a closed eye. I provided two color palettes, a dreamy lavender and a morning-inspired yellow palette.
The Impact

Appeal - the new company stood out among competitors. The lavender palette really pops amongst the blue and white marketplace.

Soft Merch - leaning into the dreaminess of the brand, merch that conveys softness was developed in breathable cotton, luscious satin and peaceful linen.
